FAQ
Is this site free?
Yes. This service will always remain free.
What is your privacy policy? What info do you collect?
Aside from the info you provide to us during registration, we record your IP address and other info for statistics purposes (such as Browser, Screen Resolution, Operating System, Country, etc).
We promise to never sell, rent, give away or in any way disclose this information to any third parties.
Is each my account limited in the amount of screenshots it can upload?
Not at this time. However, if things get out of hand (i.e. we can't pay for our web hosting anymore), a limit will be set. But don't worry about that now.
Am I allowed hotlinking to the screenshots I upload here?
Well, yes. However, it would be really nice for us if you hotlinked the thumbnail of the screenshot and linked the thumbnail to the set's URL, not the full size screenshot.
What file types do you accept?
We accept PNGs, JPEGs, and GIFs. We recommend using PNG because it is the ideal format for screenshots (in terms of quality and file size).
I have screenshots that don't belong to me. Can I upload them?
You must have the copyright (or express permission from the copyright holder) for every screenshot you upload.
Can I upload images that are not Screenshots?
No. If you want to upload photographs, check out Flickr.
What things am I not allowed to have in my Screenshots?
Screenshots cannot contain pornography/nudity, blood and gore (video games are ok), or anything disturbing (i.e. goatse). If you upload screenshots that have any of those things, you risk getting banned from the site.
What is a screenshot?
A screenshot is basically like taking a photograph of your computer's screen.
Wikipedia says: "A screenshot, screen dump, or screen capture or screenie is an image taken by the computer to record the visible items on the monitor or another visual output device. Usually this is a digital image taken by the host operating system or software running on the computer device, but it can also mean when a capture is made by an external device such as a camera or something intercepting the video output of the computer."
How do you take a screenshot?
Please see this Wikipedia article.
